How to Open DOS
Using the Run Command
You can quickly open the DOS command prompt using the Run dialog:
- Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
- Type
cmd in the Run box. - Press Enter, and the command prompt will open.
Using the Start Menu
You can also open DOS through the Start menu:
- Click on the Start button.
- Type
cmd in the search box. - Click on Command Prompt from the search results.
Using Windows Explorer
You can open DOS from any folder in Windows Explorer:
- Open any folder in Windows Explorer.
- Hold Shift and right-click inside the folder.
- Select Open command window here.
